Description

Every single dot you can see in this picture is a galaxy, and the patch of sky this image is made up of takes up a smaller portion of the sky than the nail of your little finger held at arms length.

48 hours of data shot between August 26 and September 6, 2009. Filters used were the F105W, F125W and F160W.

Based on observations made with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, and obtained from the Hubble Legacy Archive, which is

a collaboration between the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI/NASA), the Space Telescope European Coordinating Facility (ST-ECF/ESA) and the Canadian Astronomy Data Centre (CADC/NRC/CSA).
